Handwriting Practice on French Ruled Paper
A handwriting sheet for the first years of primary school: a letter to trace, words and a sentence to copy on Seyès ruling, and a self-assessment grid.
What is already in this template
- 5 pre-titled sections
- 1 tables
- 1 highlighted callouts
- A ruled grid for handwriting
Using and adapting it
The thing most easily forgotten on a worksheet is space: students need room to work, so resist squeezing it onto one page. Hints and solutions sit in their own blocks — switch them off for the class copy and on for yours, one document, two printouts. Draw figures directly rather than pasting screenshots: a screenshot breaks up close, while these figures are vector and stay sharp at any size.
Common questions
- Is there enough room for students to work?
- Space is the thing most easily forgotten on a worksheet. The template leaves it, and you can widen it per question — resist squeezing onto one page; students need room to work.
- Do the hints and solutions print?
- Only if you switch them on. They sit in their own blocks: off is the class copy, on is yours — one document, two printouts.
- Do I need to know LaTeX to use this template?
- No. You edit it like an ordinary document — type, drag blocks, insert formulas from a visual keyboard. LaTeX only runs underneath to set the page, and you can still export the source if you want it.
