Grade 4 Math Unit Test on Long Division (Japan)
A grade 4 math unit test for Japanese schools on JIS B4: long division with and without remainders, word problems, 100 points and a teacher key.
What is already in this template
- An exam header: school, subject, paper code
- 5 pre-titled sections
- 19 question blocks
- 1 highlighted callouts
- A multi-column layout
- An answer key
Using and adapting it
Change the questions first and leave the layout alone — the header, the numbering and the answer key are wired together, so adding or removing a question renumbers everything and updates the key. If you need several paper codes, shuffle inside the document rather than copying it out to another file. When printing, put a page break before each major section so nobody has to turn a page mid-question; the PDF is set by the same engine LaTeX uses, so line spacing and tables land identically on any printer.
Common questions
- If I delete a question, does the answer key update?
- Yes. The numbering and the key are both generated from the question blocks, so adding, cutting or reordering updates both. That is the slowest part of doing this in Word, and the part that most often goes wrong.
- Can I make several paper codes from this?
- Yes, shuffled inside the document — both question order and option order, with a separate key per code. No copying the file several times and reconciling by hand.
- How do I print a student copy and a copy with solutions?
- Solutions sit in their own blocks and toggle on and off. One document produces both printouts, so they cannot drift apart.
