Using and adapting it
Lecture notes are not a lesson plan: they serve you while you are standing up teaching. Keep the prose short, let formulas and figures be bigger than the text, and leave a margin for what you add after the class. Because this is the same document that can be presented, you can write it once and both print it to hold and project it on the board, instead of maintaining two copies that drift apart.

- How are lecture notes different from a lesson plan?
- A plan is what you hand in; notes are what you hold while teaching. Keep the prose short, let formulas and figures be bigger than the text, and leave a margin for what you add afterwards.
- Can one document be both printed and projected?
- Yes — switch to present mode and each heading becomes a slide. Write once instead of maintaining two copies that drift.
- Do I need to know LaTeX to use this template?
- No. You edit it like an ordinary document — type, drag blocks, insert formulas from a visual keyboard. LaTeX only runs underneath to set the page, and you can still export the source if you want it.
