Privacy Policy

Your Data, Your Academic Freedom

We are committed to absolute data transparency. Learn how Texva treats your mathematical document resources and credentials.

1. Information We Collect

Texva is designed to minimize the storage of personal user information. We only collect the data necessary to provide a reliable, sync-enabled LaTeX editor environment:

  • Account Credentials: Your email address and cryptographically hashed passwords when you register for cloud backup.
  • Document Content: The LaTeX source structures, document trees (AST), templates, and compile parameters you explicitly save to our database.
  • Compiled Assets: Temporary PDF files and intermediate compiler caches stored in secure Supabase Storage buckets.

2. Local Storage and Desktop App Privacy

If you use the Texva Tauri Desktop application, your documents are kept locally in your computer's native filesystem. We do not transfer your offline documents to our cloud systems unless you explicitly enable **Cloud Sync** or **Multiplayer Collaboration** for that specific file.

Your local encryption keys, file directories, and editor states remain on your device and are never exposed to Texva servers or third parties.

3. How We Use and Share Your Data

We believe that your academic ideas and work belong entirely to you. **We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal details or documents.**

Your information is used solely to execute tectonic compilation jobs on your request, store compile outputs for visual previewing, manage collaboration channels (Yjs), and process subscription quotas.
